I'm proud to announce that P4 has reached an important milestone! While cataloging materials into our database this afternoon, I added our 1,000th item! That's a cool grand of CDs, DVDs, Books, Chapbooks, digital video items, etc. And of course, that number represents tens of thousands of individual poems and performances.
I was curious to see which item would win the coveted spot #1,000, and I did my best not to put my thumb on the scales. What came up was this sweet chapbook by Angelique Palmer, entitled "Large Vessel of Quirk". As you can see, this was a chapbook Angelique put together for the 2015 Women of the World Poetry Slam, where she was an eventual finalist.
Here is a great site to find out about Angelique! Besides being a finalist in the 2015 WOWps, she has 10 self-published chapbooks, and a full length book of poetry entitled "The Chambermaid's Style Guide". She has been an instructor at the American Poetry Museum in Washington DC, and been the featured poet in venues across the United States.
Do you have materials you'd like to donate to P4, to help us with our mission of collecting and preserving the history of the poetry slam movement? If so, visit our Collection Contributions page!
