Copyright and Using the P4 Collection

The physical materials that P4 collects will be retained by P4 for initial cataloging and arrangement.  The materials will then be transfered to our repository partner, Dartmouth College Rauner Library. Dartmouth then assumes curatorial responsibility for the wellbeing of the physical collection and scholarly access to the materials.

While “fair use” permits scholars access to performances without specific permissions, distribution to the general public will only be made with the approval of the copyright holders, namely the poet-authors, anyone else who contributed materially to the creation of the poem or performance, and to others to whom the poets’ may have assigned their rights. P4 will always seek and gain permission from the rights holders before releasing performance recordings to the public.
